Real estate is more than buying and selling homes—it’s helping people through life’s biggest transitions. My experiences with loss, resilience, and rebuilding have shaped the way I serve others. I lead with compassion, understanding, and heart, helping my clients feel supported, confident, and cared for every step of the journey.
I still remember buying my very first home. It was more than a purchase—it was a turning point in my life. I bought the home from my aunt and became fascinated with every part of the process, from understanding the legal details to recognizing the potential within the property itself. After selling that home and reinvesting the profit into two more properties, I realized I had found something I truly loved. Before long, I was buying, renovating, and selling homes on the side and knew I wanted to pursue real estate full-time.
As I was studying for my real estate exam, my life changed forever. My son, AJ, passed away at just 22 years old.
By then, I was no stranger to hardship. I came from a divorced family, experienced divorce myself, and lost my mother, grandmother, and aunt all within the same year. I had already rebuilt my life once before, leaving behind a path in criminal justice to start over in sales. But nothing could have prepared me for the loss of a child.
After AJ passed, I put my real estate dreams on hold. I was overwhelmed with grief and unsure how to move forward. Over time, with the support of family, friends, and people who simply showed up for me, I slowly found my footing again. Returning to real estate became part of my healing journey. It gave me purpose, connection, and hope during one of the darkest seasons of my life.
That experience changed me forever. It deepened my empathy and taught me that everyone carries struggles we cannot always see. Because of that, I approach my clients differently. Buying or selling a home is rarely just a transaction—it’s often tied to major life transitions, emotions, and uncertainty. I strive to be more than an agent. I want to be a steady presence, a trusted advocate, and someone who truly listens.
Giving back has also become a meaningful part of my life. AJ and I used to raise money together for the Special Olympics, and I continue supporting causes in his honor today. I enjoy participating in polar plunges, charity events, and “Dancing with the Stars”-style fundraisers that support local food pantries and community organizations. If it helps bring people together for a meaningful cause, I’m proud to be involved.
Family remains at the center of my life. My children, Blake and Colson Leona, are now stepping into adulthood, and I treasure every moment spent with them and my husband, Richard. I also enjoy staying active, whether that’s going to the gym, golfing, driving hot rods, spending time outdoors, or simply taking the dog for a walk.
Through every challenge and blessing, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, connection, and showing up for others. Real estate has allowed me to combine my passion for people with my love for homes and community. I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to help others navigate important transitions with confidence, compassion, and care.
No matter where life has brought you, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to help you find your way home.
